1. Nguyen Asia-Lebensmittel

There are a few Asian grocery stores in Erfurt, but apart from wholesalers like Metro or bulk orders from Berlin, Nguyen Asia-Lebensmittel is the largest Asian grocery market in the city—and it is our favorite place to shop.

This supermarket offers a wide selection of products, from fresh herbs to dry goods like rice noodles, rice paper, sauces, and more. Basically, they have everything you need for Phở, curry, Thai, or Vietnamese dishes. What makes it special is its impressive variety of fresh herbs, which arrive fresh every Wednesday.

2. Asia Markt Erfurt-Mitte

While Nguyen Asia-Lebensmittel is the largest Asian grocery store in Erfurt and has everything we need, it’s located a bit outside the city center. On the other hand, Asia Markt Erfurt-Mitte is smaller but conveniently located right at Anger station—perfect for when we need to quickly grab something within walking distance.

Asia Markt offers a selection of dried products like rice paper, noodles, and basic sauces right off the shelves. However, its range of fresh products, such as herbs and fruits, is more limited.

3. MH Markt

We have another option here at Marktstraße 41-42, 99084 Erfurt, right between VinRice and Dom St. Marien. MH is similar to Asia Markt Erfurt-Mitte, located in the city center with a focus on Vietnamese and Asian products but offers a wider range of items. While we can only find one type of rice noodle at Asia Markt Erfurt-Mitte, there are more than two types here, along with various sauces and herbs.

One plus point for MH is that they also offer a variety of common fruits that you can find at Rewe, Aldi, or Kaufland. You can easily find oranges and many types of apples here, which might help us save time by avoiding trips to different places.
